If you dont have the warranty book at hand I'd give VX a phone, even a dealer should be able to tell you if its covered. If it is get it down there pronto and dont accept any excuses, tell em to get it done!!!!

Thanks for that. My dealer changed the timing belt a few thousend miles ago, do you think that could be related? This work was done under warranty, because of a ticking noise.

Just rang my dealer (Ellesmere Port), and told them the problem. She put me through to sombody who does the booking for my area, and they got me booked in at Chester tomorrow. I asked if it would be covered under warrenty, and he said it depends on how the leak was caused. He said "if it was caused by a rock or something, then it will not be covered". And I will have to pay £75 for them to look at it, if it is my fault. Does all that sound right? thanks.

Im assuming it only covers mechanical failure then? If so then I guess that would be right but dont just take their word for it, make sure you inspect everything they tell you, I wouldnt put it past some dealers to say it was a rock when it wasnt, ask to be taken through and inspect the car whilst its on the ramps. Fingers crossed for you though mate.

I would be 95% sure it will be covered, they will have to fit a new belt too. Thats why the water pump should be done at the same time as the belt, the new belt and tensioners put new strain on an old pump and its bearings. Always a good idea to change them together.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Hang up a min, this coolant loss, are you losing it in the top up bottle? if you aren't and you are using the aircon it will be condenser discharge, totally normal btw.

Thanks to everyone who is replying. What is condenser discharge? because I have been using the aircon. I think the coolant level is going down, but not 100% sure.

It's condensation from the a/c process. The amount of water is dependant on the humidity level of the outside air, and the efficiency of your a/c system. Besides cooling the air, the air conditioner removes water from the air before sending it into the cabin of the car. That water has to go somewhere and is discharged. The air con does generate water as mentioned above but it shouldnt be a significant amount, keep an eye on the coolant level to make sure its not dropping, if it is get it to a garage.
