Thread: Local dealer rang me for tuning 'advice' today!

    Talking Local dealer rang me for tuning 'advice' today!

    Had to laugh - the Service Director at my local Vx dealer (who I have a great relationship with) rang me today to ask if he could pick my brain about something as he thought I'd probably know. Fire away I said.

    He had a customer with him who had come in enquiring about the Bluefin remapping product (basically exactly the same concept as the BSR PPC unit) for his Signum 2.0T. I said I hadn't been aware of Bluefin doing it for Vx cars, mainly Ford and a bunch of others. He said the guy apparently saw it in the back of Total Vauxhall - so a quick look at the Bluefin site showed that they do do it for Vx cars, but only some variants of the Corsa, Astra and Zafira, so that answered the first question.

    So he asked me what it was that I had - so I gave the info and details - and he said he'd pass it onto the customer. I said to him not to forget to give the details of the forum to him so they could sign up for more info!

    I just had to chuckle that a customer came in enquiring about a tuning product for their Signum 2.0T and he (the Service Director) then rings another customer to help with some info!

    I should have sent an invoice for a consulting fee!

    just goes to prove the knowledge on the site is 2nd to none, still quite a strange thing to happen though

    Hat off to the Service manager....did the right thing...phone someone who knows...always the right thing to do ;>

    Just cos he works there don't mean he knows a lot about cars. Bet it felt great to be able to point him in the right direction though

    Nice one Duncan

    I rang my dealers to order some fog light surrounds today the dealer said you can't buy them as a complete unit the chrome part is a seperate bit lol.

    Came on the site to confirm the parts number rang dealer back and gave him the number job done. Maybe the vx dealers should have a link to this web site.

    A lot of salesmen and especially the managers aren't car mad at all. They look and deal with cars everyday so try to forget about them after hours.

    Much respect to the dealership for getting an answer to a customers question, when he didn't really have to. I hope he made his customer aware of warranty implications.
