    Default 04 and 05 MY

right, bit of a weird query here, but after hearing of the 05 MY rear wiper everyone seems to go on about, I went out and looked at me car, and it doesnt have the 05 MY rear wiper despite the fact that its a Feb 2005 registered car (54 plate tho), ok so maybe it was an 04 MY car not registered until 05,
    BUT
yesterday I saw an 04 54 plate exact same spec as mine (2.0 dti energy) only in a diff colour, but it had the 05 MY rear wiper, and the stereo looked better like it was more up to date, as I've saw the same one in 55 plate astras, (has the knob in the middle as opposed to my 1 where its on the top left),

BUT again, walked a bit further down the road and saw an 05 05 plate 2.0 dti Life, but it had the same rear wiper as my car and the same stereo.

    WTF is that all about??

You will find that yours is actually a 2004 model registered late. the easy way to tell a 2004 and 2005 model car is the stereo contols on the steering wheel.

If it had 3 buttons either side it is a 2004 model, if it has the 'roller' type switchs on each side then it is the 2005 model.

    Hope this helps.

alas the steering wheel button idea is no use to me as mines an energy which doesnt come with steering wheel audio controls on it.

I prefer the look of the 04 MY rear wiper, just baffled me, am well more hacked off about the stereo than anything else.

I understand the physical differences beteween the two wipers, but what are the benefits

Also no stereo controls in a Life model , but my 04 DTI LS has them-two sets of three buttons

Flat Blade = more streamlined, longer lasting and more effective ... IMHO

Is it really that important on the rear screen to change to the newer type? Is it just for looks?
