interior light fault. help!!!

Hi all. just got home from work and wife has just noticed that interior lamp
did not come on when she opened the door.
it also wont come on when you unlock the car
but will work when you press the button
has anyone ever come across this fault before? would be grateful for any help

Dont the interior lamps have 3 seperate bulbs? One for left hand side switch, one for right hand side switch, and one in the middle which is turned on by door opening

think thats for ones with reading lamps but mine only has basic unit with one button its very strange!!!

have you checked the bulb or fuse

is there a 3 position switch? One to turn off altogether, one for on and one for courtesy functions?

no its just got the basic push on or off switch
but its strange because when you push the switch it works
but when you open any door it dosn't

Have you got your lights sorted yet? Sounds like the same problem I have. Spoke to VX today, they think the light control unit is knackered. Started the thread below on the subject....

have been told to book car in to dealer and let them have a look as its still under warranty. have a sneaking suspicion that when i pulled the headlining down to see if rear lamp wiring was there i may have disturbed something lol
but wont tell them that.

Actuator switch on the door must be faulty. Probably a couple of quid to replace.

when you have the door open - does the "Door Open" warning display?
