to be honest i think she wants to look good in front of her mates and will probably end up screaming around the estate, anyway ive spoke to her mam and her nanna and expressed my concernes but she's bought it herself with her xmas money so i'll just have to drill into her about road safety and caution (although im not happy about it)

I've lost count of the nuisance complaints I have dealt with about these things over the last 2 years, but I'm looking forward to getting out on the streets and having a few of them into the crusher over the next 2 years!!!!

On a serious note... not only have I dealt with complaints... I have also dealt with incidents where kids have been seriously hurt and killed on these things. Apart from the fact that it is illegal to use them anywhere except on private land (with the owners permission)... they are also lethal, and any self respecting parent should severely limit the use of any such "toy" (and i use that word very loosely) to supervised (and preferably specialist) sites only.

Just had a thought. Where do mobility scooters stand?
They are unlicensed and ride on the pavement?

They are electrically propelled, not mechanically propelled (we could split hairs over that one all day), therefore a completely different kettle of fish.

I agree completely mate... not having a rant at you, just a general "get it off my chest"!! The facts are simple, these things are killers but are treated like toys.

I think if she is 16 then she will ride it whatever the penalty, I know I would of But I would do everything in your power to get her to at least to wear a crash helmet, we know they save lives.
