    Default shocks/shocking!!!!

in august 05,i purchased some rear shocks for my sri.,from a main dealer....in less than 30,000 miles, one of them is leaking....in aug 05,i paid £47;00 + vat.i have just spoken to the same dealer & he now wants.....wait for it......£72.00 + vat.....this is each,by the way.
how can they justify thie increase?.
anybody know of a mail order company that does a good deal in aftermarket ones?.
    thanks
    nev.

Just done mine, Bilsteins from EuroCarParts, cost 71 inc vat for the pair. you have to phone them, as they aren't listed on the web. I also bought a set of Draper E series torx sockets for £13 from Amazon.

The difference is astonishing, its like a new car! Only problem is its now got me thinking about doing the fronts along with a set of lowered springs!

Changed my rears last week, from ECP too, there is a big price difference for front shocks between pre facelift and face lift, ECP had no stock anywhere and have ordered a pair of fronts (2/3 days)..........quoted £120+VAT each, thats with discount too.

I rang LMF last week, got 2 rear B6's on order at the moment, should be through this week. £192 delivered.

But they do the B4's for £41 each.

Mine went 2 years ago and i purposely didn't buy the replacements from vx because they are weak and wont last any length of time. I bought a pair out of my local car accessory shop about £60 for the pair and i fitted them myself, an absolute doddle.
