    Default MPG standard engine?

Ive had my 150 CDTi for a month now, Ive completed 1300 miles, almost 900 of which motorway and the trip computer is showing an average reading of 39.1 mpg. This to me seems rather high for a diesel to be honest and certainly as I have not been caning it everywhere.

A quick calculation I have just done has worked it out to be 43 mpg but due to not having kept an accuate record of fuel I have put in I would not take this as accurate!

Should I worried about the potential low economy? Other than being just one of those things is there anything that could possibly be at fault?

It took me nearly 15,000 before I started to get what I would class as expected economy from my CDTi 150.

I now normally get between 45-50mpg on average, but you have to remember that the 150's are vauxhalls compromse between performance and economy.

It will get better as the car settles in.

I was averaging 42 mpg when mine was standard.(According to comp)

I found a big difference was made on motorway by dropping speed 5-10 mph.

The Common rail diesels are not as economical as the traditional diesels, they are far more powerful, revier, quieter and less econimcal.

thing I compare is that as standard it had similar performance to the 2.2 petrol with 10+mpg better!!
