    Default cruise control does it use more or less fuel

    any one got the answer
    does cruise control use more or less fuel
    has anyone tried it out if so please help
    going to cornwall 365 miles wont to know wether to use cruise control or not on motorway (set at 80)

    Less fuel mate. Besdies, even if it did use more it'd be worth it for the relaxation it gives you...

    cruise control set at what speed..............


    Cruise on all the way for me mate, used it today and it's much more economical imo

    trying 80 to see what it will do mpg 300 of trip is motorway
    normally run around the 100 on motorways but going to be a good boy
    lol

    Up to about 80 is econmical, above that the drag starts to increase expontentially (ooh, get me...) and your economy goes down at the same rate...

    I set mine on my way to work every day 100 mile round trip of which 94 are on the M62, nice and flat and never need to drop out of 6th. Never notice any difference in economy, I set mine anywhere between 75-82 mph depending on the flow of traffic (showing 5-6mph lower on Tom tom) I cannot see why it would save fuel against you being steady with your foot to maintain the same speed.

    It's definitely improves MPG with cruise control on as the electronics control the the accelerator more accurately than a driver. HTH
