    Default Fuel Gauge Problem

I have noticed a strange problem with my Signum,

When on a slope with the car pointing down hill the fuel gauge drops, i would say quite dramatically, often causing the fuel light to come on, it only takes a few mins for this to happen i.e sat waiting for the lights,

when the road levels out the fuel gauge gradually shows an increase often as much as the difference between the white lines on the fuel gauge.

    is this normal?

    Thanks

Perfectly normal, and the same on many other cars. It's because the float for the fuel tank sender will be at one end of the tank. On a slope the level will drop at one end of the tank and rise in the other - this is what's happening in your case. If you were to be pointing uphill, you'd see that the fuel level rose instead.

Thanks Duncan, I have never noticed it before but can obviously see the logic! D'oh
