    Default Should you use Clay?

First lightly rub your hand over the paintwork, if it's clean it will feel very smooth.......then......take the sellophane wrapper from a cigarette packet put your fingers inside and lightly rub them over the paint again............you will notice the difference...........likely it will probably feel like sandpaper..........you need to clay

That's how you tell if you need to use a clay bar on your paintwork

I clayed mine before I polished it a couple of months ago and the amount of cr*p I got off it was amazing - afterwards when putting the polish on, the cloth remained perfecty clean which was a good sign!

I also clayed my other halfs 93 Micra with what was left - it came up spanking!

What is the point? My car does over 600 miles per week, and car wash when dirty. That's it, and all it will get, and it is enough for me.

Very good Ste, but I, like some others like a nice deep shine. I currently do 350 miles minimum per week, which is why I like to look after my paintwork.

But each to their own mate.
