    Default New 314mm brakes fitted

    After having the car serviced last year he told me that the front discs would need changing as they were rotting from the inside face, I didn't have the money to sort it at the time but I scraped enough together to get a 314mm kit from LMF Vauxhall, as you know this kit consists of 314mm discs with large calipers and pads for the front, I also paid to have the discs grooved, after failing on several occasions to save some cash to have them fitted I decided to give it a go myself, so last weekend I got up nice and sharp on saturday morning to sort it,

    The new discs

    New calipers

    Old setup, 302mm discs with MUCH smaller calipers!

    The state the old discs were in (the calipers were fine!)
    Back face

    Front face

    New caliper fitted

    Bleeding, I used an "Eezibleed" kit for this from halfords, £16.99, superb piece of kit which made the process very simple and hassle free!

    Wheel back on (sorry for shaky photo, one of my mates was the photographer and was very cold by the time we'd finished
    )

    Only thing that need sorting now is a touch up on both of the calipers as I scraped some of the paint off accidentally when removing the clips to copper grease the backs of the pads.

    The braking abilities of the car have increased no end! A massive improvement on before!

    I'd highly recommend these to anyone thinking of a brake upgrade for their 5 stud Vauxhall!

    I don't know TBH mate, I had a deal lined up with a Supra which fell through, had numerous offers to P/X it against, Ideally would like to sell or swap for something I want, so for the time being I'm just continuing with what I'm doing until the right deal comes along, just received new drop links, ARB bushes and spring sleeves on friday and have a new lambda sensor to fit also
