If she is with Sky she can get her broadband through them using the BT line. Failing that she can go to any broadband provider that uses a BT line.

Top value is Tiscali, Sky you may have problems with, Pipex I can recommend but they aren't the cheapest.

I can't adam and eve it that BT won't take line rental money from your friend regardless of how much usage, unless your mate is a bad credit risk, and then I'd say it's a polite way of saying we don't want you.

shes no credit risk own house mortgage paid off good job she has a bt line with house phone but as said bt wont provide a broadband service on her line for anyone because they say she is a light user i presume that means she doesnt use her house phone enough
i dont use my house phone either my mobile phone gives me free evening and weekend calls and the mrs mobile gives her free calls to landlines at anytime so why pay for those privaleges then be silly enough to use house phone and get charged from bt

I work for Pipex we got some great deals on at the moment and we provide Tiscali BB, BT have no right to say that to her if the line is clear of any markers and dacs then bb can be supplied. As long as shes got a BT line at home theres loads of companies she can go to try and avoid TALKTALK AND SKY if you can... Ofcom are the regulators of the telecoms industry cantact them just to lodge a complaint about it, usually when you mention ofcom to companies it kinda pulls their fingers out their backsides a bit

if you need any help just pm me dude

If I can offer any advice I would steer clear of any company that has the words Tiscali near it.
