they do work and they are great. Only 1 problem. Havent seen a common rail petrol.

sorry mate should of explained properly,i ment mines petrol though so no good for me,i've read a few posts about the way tuning boxes give you power is bad,how do they give you power

A tuning box gives more power by crudely foolong the engine into beleiveing it's not injecting fuel at the right pressure..So the Box makes the fuel pump work harder to increase the fuel rail pressure.then, when the injector opens fuel under higher pressure ( i.e. More fuel ) is injected..making more power..

A Deisel is an 'excess air' engine..the fuelling isn't as finitely controlled as a petrols, so there is always more air there to burn the fuel..However, side effects include excess smoking and premature damage to the high pressure fueling systems as the components are'nt the 'best' they could be..

A remap is much more involved that a box, but is far 'kinder' to the engine as it alters more parameters than just the fuel pressure..

sounds abit of a risk,cause reading on here fuel pumps are alot more than the extra for a remap,how come you cant get all the extra power out of a diesel
