The imobiliser failed....Had to be towed to Alfa then they spend 2 days diagnosing the fault! Ordered the part from Italy...took 5 days to arrive, had to be programmed to car's ecu! in total cost me £1500 and no car for 2 weeks....but to be fair i did get to drive round in a bright yellow fiat punto! Great!!!!! It was just out of warranty! I'd buy another and strictly just keep it while its covered under warrany.
Alfa is one make of cars that i'd recommend getting a 1year old and keeping it until its 3years old!

The colour was actually 'Volcano Black' it was a metallic black with a redish tint.
Alfa'a are such a pleasure to own, its just the reliability problems. My 166 was alot more reliable than my 156, its just when you get hit by a big bill you have to re-evaluate why you've got the car.
I keep saying we'll get a GTV as a third car and keep it garaged as much as possible, there great cars as long as you dont depend upon them! LOL
