    Engine : A20DTH

    Year : 2009

    Mileage : 88000

Default Getting new car 1.9cdti 150 and need modding advice

Finally took the plunge and brought Marty150cdti's car.

Got to fly to Glasgow and pick it up but I am looking foward to the 5 hour drive home

Think I have decided on the BSR remap due to some heavy selling by Spoons on the forum. I am sure he must have BSR tatooed on his forehead!
But you have to go by peoples experiences and BSR seem to come out tops. Unless someone knows otherwise

So yes I will do the airbox mod instead of putting on the K and N cone which I so believe in as I have lost count of the cars I have put a cone on. Maybe someone can suggest a better airfilter system?

Now I want to do the exhaust so recomendations please. Is it worth the extra cost of a twin outlet like I already have (mainly for show on my 1.8) or will a single outlet be fine? Does the twin give you a bit more power? Thinking of the MIJ single exhaust but I am picking up the car on the day of the meet (16th) Mind you I have to come down the M6 from Glasgow so I could there mid afternoon Lets see land at Glasgow for 10am ,leave Glasgow 10.30am ,4 hours to Walsall be there for 3pm. Could be the quickest modded exhaust ever. In 4 hours of having the car. Think this is the way to go.
Should I get the single exhaust and de cat, as long as it passes the MOT?

Well I am really looking forward to getting my car with thanks to Marty150cdti (I cannot find a smiley with a big enough grin to put here)

Can't have been Spoons m8 - he hasn't got BSR on his.

Although you certainly wouldn't be disappointed if you do go for it.

Don't buy an aftermarket exhaust because you expect it to give more power unless it has been designed & tested with that in mind & a power increase is guaranteed, buy it because that is what you like / want. I've seen lots of tests on exhausts that purport to give a power increase & few live up to expectations

Interesting point, I would think I would state I want more power then.
Otherwise its not worth it and I will stick with the standard one. If the bore size is bigger would that not give you that bit more power?
