    Default Power Steering problem

Parked my car the other day, having parrallel parked, the wheel was on full lock.

Left the car for 10 minutes, went back, and when I fired up, I couldn't turn the wheel

The power steering icon was showing, and belive me there was no assistance

I couldn't manouvre the car out of the parking spot.

I switched off and re-started, and it was fine, and the oil level is fine

Any suggestions, it has been fine since.

The same thing's just happened to me. The car was parked on the drive, started ok, put it into gear and as we pulled away I turned the wheel and "BINGO" the dreaded light comes on and no power steering. I turned the engine off then back on and all was well again. Dont know about you H11LGX but I'm getin on the phone in the morning, I dont like the idea of that happening on the motorway at 80mph going to and from work. Anyone got any ideas?, it must be an electrical fault for the light to come on I'd say.
Just noticed the date you posted mate. Did you take your's back to have it checked out? if so did they tell you what was up? before I ring the garage in the morning.
    Thanks.

I can only think it has something to do with the electro-hydraulic steering

    A glitch in the system
Check it with Tech2, to make sure its no hardware problem.

The fluid container is behind the drivers side front wing near the front. If you look down that area next to the radiator with the bonnet open you will see it .

Dread to think how you top it up though, must have to take the wheel arch liner off i would imagine.

Have a look at this thread guys. There's a reply I popped in (with a PDF) explaining how to get access to check/top up the PS fluid - not you should need to BTW, it's sealed system. If you're losing fluid then there is a problem.
