    Exclamation Oil filter heart attack

Is it me or does 48 quid sound a bit excessive for an oil filter for a 3.0cdti !
that's what I was quoted earler!

Whats the best price anyone has found these at so far?

Sounds ferkin' expensive to me. I'm just about to do an oil and filter change myself and the dealer up here in the NE (where I am now) quoted £40 for 7 litres of fully synthetic long-life oil and the filter.

Can't see why the filter should be so expensive for the 3.0 CDTi. I'll ask this dealer for a price, just as a comparison, when I go in tomorrow to get my stuff.

Out of curiosity I got a price of £ 80 for a oil & filter change on a 2.2 petrol. I bought the oil filter off them for £ 5.50 + VAT and bought the oil elsewhere. What shocked me was the price of the Castrol Edge 5/30w fully synthetic at £ 42.00 !!!!!!!.

The VXR oil filter is £24.00 plus vat each , so not surprised the 3.0 diesel is that type of cost. Once after markets companies start to supply, the cost will drop.

Picked up my bits today and asked for the price of the 3.0 CDTi filter. £30+VAT, so £48 seems somewhat pricey. It is a good bit dearer then other filters - don't know why. Mine was only about a tenner.

So that's my job for tomorrow then - engine flush, oil and filter change!
