    Default 5mm wheel spacers info

    ive just fitted 18inch inovit rotas to 55 plate 1.8 veccy when i first fitted them i didnt realise i needed spacers but spoke to shop and they supplied me 4 5mm spacers what i need to know is the spacers are flat on one side and grooved on other which way round do i fit them as im thinking flat side to hub and grooved to wheel side,has any one fitted spacers and if so have you had any problems with tyre wear strain on bearings etc thanks in advance

    it doesnt really matter what way they are fitted, i used these type of spacers on my corsa and tried them both ways and didnt make a diference

    I would put the grooved side to the hub, as the hub is harder metal and is less likely to be marked, but I don't think it would make much of a difference!!

    if you're not using longer wheel bolts get them fitted now!!!..

    the bolts need to be lenghtened by the same thickness as the spacers..compare your new bolts to the OEM ones..

    , and I've spoken to a mate who said its best to put the grooved side next to the hub, aint too sure why cause I didnt ask!!!

    Did you buy them from POTN??

    Why are you fitting spacer's??

    I had a problem with my Inovit DTM's and POTN sent me 5mm wheel spacer's to "Cure" the problem!

    Mark - The wheel bolts Inovit supply with the wheels are longer bolts as standard..

    thats fine then..because did you all know that the bolts only hold on 10mm of thread anyway.... so a 5mm spacer would only leave you hanging on 5mm of thread...
