    Default Negotiating a Tariff.

I'm a low user with a four year old phone that is getting a little long in the tooth. Seen an O2 24 month Tariff, (online 15) which offers 250 texts and 75 minutes for £15/month. (with free G600)

Even this is more than I need and wonder if it's possible to reduce the minutes and texts to around 200 texts, 40 minutes with a subsequent reduction in cost to £10/month.

    Has anyone ever managed this?

Why not go the pay as you go route, I know you have to buy the phone yourself, but then you put as much money in it as you need. That is how I do it.

I transfered to PAYG last year. My phone is four years old now and is getting a bit long in the tooth.

Other reasons:- 1. I always seem to run out of credit at 2am when I'm stuck on the m/way 2. I can't divert a PAYG phone to my carphone.

Not quite enough min/texts and the phones don't appeal, but cheers anyway.

Re-negotiate your contract with your provider, then get on ebay and buy a phone. As long as you dont want the latest 'superduper' phone you will get some bargains on there. The best value phone at the moment on a features/price comparison is the SE K800i. I could never subscribe to a 24 month contract, I dont even go for an 18 month contract its 12 or nothing. Reason is, if you lose damage phone and you aint got phone insurance then you still gotta pay for the remainder of the contract. I learned the painful way, lost a new phone after 1 month in San Diego !!

Thinking about it, I have a Nokia N70 or 6230 for sale. N70 has spare battery and stuff, just no charger, lost it at my old mans. But cd and PC cable can go with it.

For any of you who loose a phone mid contract, call the network and say that you've lost or damaged the sim card and could they send a new one, then use an old phone or get a payg one to use while the contract is live.

I have insurance, lost and had enough phones stolen, wouldn't have a contract with out it now.
