2 Issues - Advice please

I have a Vectra CDTi 150 Auto, 55 plate 34,000 miles:

Issue 1). when I first get in the Car switch the radio on without the key in sounds quite normal, If I start the engine the volume and Bass seemed to be quite a bit quieter until I adjust the volume level it appears back as it was previous, is this normal?

Issue 2). Engine ticking over in neutral sounds quite a typical Diesel Engine, if I engage it into Drive (D) whilst obviously foot on brake the noise of the typical Diesel sound seems to be more exagerated, is this normal?

P.S. theres a slight crackle noise when I adjust the volume button

sounds like a loose wire and when starting the engine vibrations make it worse

CD70 Navi?

Quiet on startup is quite normal. The crackling volume control - just rapidly turn it up and down a few times, it'll soon sort it.

Aren't there different volume settings for Ing on and Radio on with Ing off,

Could be wrong ??

Regarding problem one....might be do to the Volume/speed control....try to turn that feature off and see if that cures it
