Default Some Bar Steward has keyed my car..advice needed

Found out last night that some really nice person has walked past and keyed my car...great so gotta find someone to do a repair job. Just wondered if anyone on here can recommend anyone in the Medway/Maidstone area of Kent? Cheers

    Guru Says....

I'd leave it a while.... let them have the satisfaction of seeing it a few times.... and then get it repaired once the 'novelty' has worn off.

They may just do it again if repaired quickly

Sorry you've been keyed mate, good advise that Steve (sorry Guru lol), although you always want to get a job like that sorted quickly, hope it fixed soon.

I know a good ChipsAway guy in the Tunbridge Wells area, so he may cover your area. I think he's still doing the franchise, I haven't spoken to him for ages. I can get you his details if you want.

How deep are the scratches? Down to primer? Metal? How many panels? If it's too deep then it'll be a respray and not a smart repair.

If its down to the metalwork, id get this done ASAP before corrosion sets in. If it is down to the metal and you do plan to leave it, a smear of vaseline along it will help prevent oxidisation of the metal. Remember if you do this, use a degreaser to remove prior to going for repair. On my older cars I used to use the vasoline on stone chips then repair them in the summer months. Ive had this approach for almost 30 years now and the vasoline has never reacted with any paint.

Quick protection fix for you, get a crayon the same colour of the car and colour it in, build up the layers and it will last for a few weeks at a time until you can get something more permanent done.
