    Default Hmm...what should I do/get?

I think the time has come to sell the estate - I want to cut costs, pay off a loan, the Vec will be three years old next month so the warranty runs out etc etc.

I think I fancy a change from VX, will have about £5k to spend but (but could go up to maybe £7k) and would like a diesel again.

I don't really need a big estate anymore but then again I don't think I'm a "small car" person (not just in size either ) but I would still like to be able to visit the DIY store and carry passengers in comfort.

Any ideas on what I could get?

Oh dear, hope you get well soon mate! (nothing to do with the cold/TA then? )

I've been looking last night and had another look this morning.

Dare I say it but an option appears to be a Citroen Picasso 1.6HDI 110bhp

Forgot to add, would prefer nothing older than 5 years and preferably not much more than 45K on the clock...

    Picky? Me?

    http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk..._mileage=40000

Other than this, all I'm turning up is 100k Mondeos and Vectras, the odd Rover 75 - don't go there, or leggy Lagunas.

Do you really really need to change? I know you've had your ups and downs with yours, but wouldn't another years warranty work out better, then decide where you really need to be?

Bluddy hell, I'm getting all serious. I must be ill.....

Hmm... I'll have to get latest redemption figure and go from there I think - I take your point on board though.

The Vec is worth roughly what I owe, so I wanted to sell and pay that off then buy something cheaper with cash and not have the loan to pay etc - plus a cheaper fuel bill would be nice!

I did think about a Signum, but then its another VX and I fancy looking at a different badge on the steering wheel if you know what I mean!

But don't worry, unless something special/very cheap pops up the new badge in the center of the wheel won't be blue and won't be oval... (as my Grandfather used to say - particularly of commercial vehicles - if someone starts running F*rds then you know they are in a bad way! )

I know its been said to dont bother with the rover 75 but perhaps you should take a ride in its big brother the ZT.

My mums got the 160 V6 and its an absolutly cracking car. Its solid as a rock, its quicker than a 160 is and one of the most solid cars to drive ive ever had a go in and the one noise at 70mph on the motorway is the tyre noise, a superb cruiser.

It also depreciates like hell so you can get one cheap., the service costs are cheap and parts are in massive abundance seeing as how it shares its body panels with the 75.

and if you go for the diesel you get the diesel out of a BMW, not the diesel from the land rovers that were put in the zr's and zs's.
