Default Are you the I.T Guru Mushy needs?

I had my laptop wipe clean after five years and re-setup with all the software on and it now runs a treat.

However I saved all the songs and vids etc to my ipod thinking i could pull them back to the pc when all the work was done, wrong.

Loaded the software that came with the ipod and tried to copy all the files back, wrong i cant back them up to the itunes.

    Can anyone help?

I think there is a program called ephod (or similar) on the net that allows you to get the files off the ipod. Not 100% but it is what I used for a guy at work who lost his files on his pc but still had the tunes on the ipod.

You can actually navigate to the individual files on your ipod using Windows Explorer, the trick is you need to Tools > Folder Options > View 'Tab' and check the box that says 'Show Hidden Files and Folders'.
If you open the ipod like you would any other folder there should be a folder called 'ipod_control' it'll look slightly faded as it is usally hidden! Open the folder called 'Music' and there you have it all your music. The files names are complete guff, the trick here is copy all the folders to your HDD then import back into itunes! as if by magic all the track, title, artist names appear!
Not sure how it works with video but i'm sure its in the 'ipod_control' folder somewhere, I only got a 3G ipod so not used the video feature.
    Good luck!

The above trick works, or get a copy of a thing called "Copypod" I bought it a couple of years ago. Doesn't cost much, but lets you manage all your pod contents and bring them back.
