Does any1 know why my cruise control switches itself off, its been so alot lately and is very annoying?
check the clutch pedal switch.... spring on the pedal fails cutting cruise..
very common..and cheap to fix
Yet again Mark 2 the rescue, ill have 2 start paying for ya help soon lol, cheers again!
On the subject of mad resume, that's why cruise control on the earlier Scooby's got taken away as an option. It was very dangerous.
My girlfriends new Jag XK isn't too bad, it doesn't go full throttle on resume but build's up.

Cruise control makes motorway driving easier, manual control inevitably causes your speed to creep up without you knowing it. Don't use it uphill if it causes the engine to labour, and don't use it in close traffic, it has been banned on some roads in Belgium, although how would you enforce that? Useful for staying within speed limits too. I would miss it if it wasn't there. For me it started as a gimmick, now it's a useful driving tool.
To be honest, I don't think I'd buy a car without it anymore.
My FIL loaned me his 406 coupe a few years ago. I was driving near Chobham on a little country road when I spotted this strange stalk...So being curious I pushed it...... 30-90 in nano seconds on a bend....I didn't have a clue how to switch it off so stamped the brake....I never went near that stalk for the rest of the weekend.
One thing I will say, in the GF's car, if you are on the Motorway cruising at, ahem, and then slow right down in traffic. It's great when you resume from about 25mph............... Hold on tight.......
