Unhappy Are there any consumer groups that can help in a dispute with a VX Dealer?

Basically had an ongoing problem with my car for the past 9 months, it's been to the same VX dealers on 9 occasions with the same fault with a running total of nearly £1,000.

They have diagnosed several faults and changed parts, earlier ones paid for by myself, later ones with a contribution from VX and the last part (should have been £500) free of charge.

They are now suggesting the problem is with the manifold and it will cost £788.

I met with the general manager today and get the feeling he is only going to offer a contribution towards the cost.

Is there any legal body/consumer rights group that can help in a case like this?

I have paid a lot of money for their diagnosis and work which should have rectified the fault. They must have also fitted parts that are not required as the problem persists, why should I pay anymore?

Just for good measure right to Vauxhall and tell them how unhappy you are with a dealer who after all is selling their product and to emphasize that you have went to a third party governing agency - they will do something then!!!

    Good Luck

Surely if they mis-diagnose a problem it is up to them to rectify it, as they have not completed the job they were asked to do, or is that being over simplified or just plain naive?

I argree with you, surely you are paying for professionals who are supposed to know your car inside out. If you wanted to play a guessing game at your cost you would have asked them

Fitters not mechanics is the problem
