    Default CDR 2005 VDO Problems

    Hi

I have a Subwoofer pack from my old car and am wanting to wire this to the head unit.

Is the plug under the ashtray a diagnostic socket or related to audio?

Also, I have removed the 4 grub screws from the front of the unit and am unable to remove the unit to have a look.

I have a nasty feeling that the CDR 2005 VDO does not have RCA Sockets or whatever they're called.

Is there any way I can wire up a powered sub without damaging the head unit?

    Thanks very much

    Chris

Well I can help with a couple of those:

The plug is the diagnostic socket.

Removing my CDR2005 was a complete swine. I removed all of the surrounding switch blanks and storage trays and still could budge it!

Eventually I removed the radio fascia and put my fingers inside the radio chassis and pulled like mad - then it popped out!

On the back theres just the ISO connectors and aerial socket.

thanks for info - I've got a CDR 2005 VDO as well and i'm considering pulling it out as will persist in damaging my cd's!

If i pull the CDO 2005 out, how do i keep the use of my steering wheel controls with a new improved radio/cd? Will the ISO connector on the car wiring harness take care of it with the new radio?

You'll need to buy the correct wiring looms, they're around £30
