    Default Where is the oil filter on a 2004 Veccy 1.9CDTi 150?

    Im trying to do an oil change and cant find where the old oil filter is to change it, any suggestions?

    I think it's under the undertray somewhere - definitely somewhere awkward. It's been covered on here so I'd say do a quick search.

    its down the back of the engine and you need to get underneath the car to change it , its quite awkward

    Got a rough idea where it is now cheers Mike, gonna have 2 wait till tom to do it now coz its hammering down outside, shouldnt take long tho!

    it's down the back of the engine about 18 in's above the exhaust pipe

    you will see it better from under the car

    you are looking for a plastic nut about 32mm in size

    Tool required - 32mm Ring spanner of some desciprion - you can't get a socket and handle in there at all...

    you must have been doing it wrong Penfold....

    from underneath there's room to get a 1/2 drive ratchet and socket onto it..

    top tip.. put some hose over the stubby pipe outlet and let the oil drain down there rather than down your arm..

    Damn that was a difficult job, that plastic cover is a right pain in the 'A' hole, they must be designed for car lifts and pits! All done tho, oil still ran down my old man's arm tho lol! Cheers lads once again
