    Default Rodents under the bonnet...

A mate who is a mobile mechanic told me about a job he got called out to at the weekend......a couple return from holiday and go to use their Nissan Primera Diesel which had been left in the garage for 2 weeks...car starts and idles fine but will not rev up and chucks loads of smoke out of the back..

AA are called out who then diagnose a faulty turbo in about 2 mins and leave..owner rings my mate who goes out and has a poke about..

Takes off the air intake to the turbo and shines a light in to find a rather sad looking mouse jammed in the compressor blades stopping them from moving hence the smoke and the engine only idling on the air bypass..further investigation showed a hole chewed through the air filter so Mr Mouse must have gone up the intake - through the air filter and on up the pipe until he fell down into the turbo and couldn't get back out...

Car now runs perfect so if you're leaving a motor in a garage for a while set some traps or block up the intakes

Talk about coincidence. A friend of mine was taking his car out of it's winter wraps at the weekend and decided to service it before using it. When he changed the air filter he found the box FULL of nuts. Some poor squirrel is going to be gutted...
