    Default Im Bricking it!!

I had my offer accepted on a house today. It a good buy and i rushed in last minute to get it. I have no money saved up to put down as a deposit. I only got money to pay the solicitors fee.The house needs lots of work so i went in well under the asking price. Should make money on it. Im 22 and im buying my 1st place. Great i think

    Then i think

Dam the car will have to be sold

And ill be skint and spending every last penny on doing the place up rather than drinking my hard earned money on the weekends. No more nipping out to buy what i want when i want it.

Ill miss the veccy, its been a 100%reliable brilliant car. Its a looker as well. Ill get another one though. It will just take some time

Its a big step and im proper bricking myself now. The thing that is really huring me the most is that ill have to sell the car

    Any words of comfort please

I can sympathise!! We bought our first house last year and its a real financial drain and I am looking to sell my Vectra as its getting to be too expensive and I am learning to try and be more financially responsible as boring as it sounds

    Still its your own place!!

You've done the right thing matey. Well done.

At 22 I got married and me and the missus bought a brand new house and immediately rented it out as I was in the RAF and had just been posted to Germany for three years. We were also bricking it in case the house was left empty as it would of been a financial drain. It all worked out and we had someone else pay our mortgage for nearly five years and we made a monthly profit of roughly £130 on the rent.

I'm currently on my fourth house in five years since leaving the RAF, and we've always made money on them. The least we've made is 5 grand and the most is 20k. A house is definately an investment matey, especially as you're obviously prepared to put in some hard graft and improve it. My advice is, if you're buying to develop it and immediately sell, keep the upgrades and improvements simple and plain. Only if you're going to stay in it after the renovation buy 'what you like' for it.

Your house is one of your best possesions. you might still be able to keep your car, just be careful with your finances. I when I bought my house was driving a 2.8 granada, good luck and I hope it all goes well for you.
