    Default so ANNOYED with VIRGIN

I have been having problems with Virgin for months now and on Friday an engineer was supposed to turn up to sort out the problems. tv freezing and broadband switching itself off. he didnt turn up and had a call at 12.20, 20 mins after the allocated time saying he had not turnt upto to work. ok thats fine, come back out monday. the guy arrives seems like a bit of a jerk, but hey. " whats wrong with the box" me " i dont know it keeps freezing"

Now here is the interesting part I got sooo FD'd of with the problems when trying to watch football on saturday that I disconnected the box and chucked it on the floor and damaged one of the exterior panels. then plugged in my old silver box.

guy said what happend to the box, i said it wasnt working so I ripped it out and chucked it on the floor. he said you'll have to pay for that. No I wont I reply. he says " fine!" picks up both boxs and leaves and said we are cancelling your contract whilst some matey from virgin is on the phone to him.

Fine I thought its Sh;;t anyway.

Ring up Virgin and they tell me they will cancel me but I HAVE to pay £200 for a new box. I said bring it back along with the silver one and re-install it as they both still work, we are not going to do that they say as the engineer feels "tthreatend" hes the idiot that had the attitude and walk out with a nice cheesey grin and said hope you have a fantastic day. HE REALLY NEEDED A PUNCH!! anyway they wont bring my boxes back out or connect them. they want me to pay £200 for a new box which we can all get for less than £15 off ebay. they say that I only pay £2 for my tv service and I get a £22.50 disco. I have the TWO for £22 scheme BB and TV! I still pay for a bloomin service. I asked them to post them back to me and told me to write in.

ANYONE know how to STICK IT to them? they said seeing as I had a conversation saying that I said I chucked the box they WILL CHARGE me £200! in the heat of the moment I was pee'd off but the silver box workd fine and they took that one too. so I now have no boxe's except BB and no TV service which I am paying for.

Help me please. I have been quite polite to the people over the fone and human to the engineer.

Write a letter. I know it sounds old fashioned but nothing says it quite like a well worded letter.
Explain how your service has been so bad, how disappointed you are with virgin etc etc. Keep it polite, factual and to the point.
Explain that you became SO frustrated after weeks of poor customer service that you did what you did.
I would also explain that the engineer was unhelpful and had an attitude and further added to your very poor customer experience.
Explain that all you want is a working service.
I would refuse to discuss any matters over payment of the equipment until they resolve the matter to your satisfaction.

Find out from them who their head of customer service is, send the letter to them.
I always write when I get duff service, and 99% of the time get what i want.

I had problems with their Engineers when they were NTL (long story), I have been waiting for a phone call from their so called "head customer services man" since May 2006

Try to keep your cool if you phone them again mate, you will get further than I did when I asked the girl I spoke to weather she was a member of the chimp family at Chester zoo (she showed a similar level of interlect)

You will be lucky to get a reply to your letter, you'll probably get one acknowleging receipt of yours and that will be it

    My observations.

At the end of the day, the boxes are theirs and if you damage them through negligence why shouldn't you have to pay for replacements? If someone hit my car with a shopping trolley at the supermarket I would quite reasonably expect them to pay for any damage done.

So you had a moments madness, BUT you have still damaged property not belonging to you.

I don't think this is what you want to hear, but that's my 2p worth.

I would try as above, and write a well worded letter to them and see what they are willing to do to resolve the matter.
