Wipers

I took my car back to the garage today to get a few things sorted. The rear washer was not working and the passenger side wiper also had stopped working. Not a problem as its still under warranty at the Suzuki garage where i bought it from.

Just got a call from them saying the rear washer pump is broken and needs replacing, and thats covered by warranty, still need a £25 excess though.

However the front wiper blade's linkage had broken and also need to be replaced. This is not covered by warranty and it will cost £279.83 to fix!!!!!!!

Why is not covered by warranty im not don't know, if it was the blade or the arm, fair enough its a perishable's, but not the bleeding linkage.

Has anybody else had a similar problem???

Look about 4 threads down on the Car chat section, there's another thread about linkages with links to other threads too.

Can't see why it wouldn't be covered by warranty though, others have had it done by it.

Is it standard VX 3 year / 60,000 mile warranty or other ?

Secondary warranty, a VX 60k one would cover this, but as a car ages the cover gets less due to wear and tear, don't have them do it, get one from a scrap yard and either fit it yourself or get a local indy to do it, better still one of the guys local to you may help you out if you don't mind travelling a few miles to a meet.

and the gutting thing is, the parts are only £55+V and it takes under an hour to do a linkage..

It should be under a warranty of any type.. not only a VX one, as it's a safety component..

Thanks guys, just rang VX and will be getting a new linkage for £61.50 plus vat.
