Every thing you need to know.

I personally favour ING Direct, but that's me and my money, not you and yours.#

Not taking the p here, but Northern Rock is worth a punt too.

ING are superb. I've had a savings account with them for a few years and have set up a direct debit from my current account. When you want your money you just transfer it back online or phone them up

Make sure you avoid paying tax, as far as you can. You can get an instant access 'Mini Cash ISA' and pay in up to £3,000 per financial year (a little more next year) without paying tax on your interest!

I have an ISA with EGG, which has a decent rate and is easy to administer online.

    Thumbs up

Thanks folks. Need to sit down and have a good look before we decide what to do.

One thing I notice is the clause that says, bank £1000 pm or get nowt, how they get away with this is beyond me, they will pay 1% interest on a normal account, but charge 7% upwards when you borrow from them.
