Default Superchips Bluefin remapper unit - for petrol or diesel.

Saw this mentioned in the Sunday Times Driving supplement and was curious so I've just had a look at the website.

It works like the BSR PPC unit I have, i.e. plugs into the diagnostic port and you can map and also return to original. It will work on petrol and diesel.

An additional extra feature is that it can read fault codes from the vehicle and allow you to reset them. They also offer a seven day trial period (don't like it?, then return your car to original and return the unit). They also offer a warranty to repair any damage that may occur by using the unit if your dealer won't repair it.

All sounds great!! So I went to see if they do it for the Vec/Signum. NO!, they're only listing it for Ford vehicles at the moment - nothing else!! So no good for folks on here.

No idea if they plan to extend the range, but if you're interested then here's the link. Anyone that is interested can always contact them asking if they will do Vx in the future.

Cool, well it will be if they extend the range, lol.
It's a bit insulting to think I could get one for a Transit, but not me motor, lol.

i had a zetec s fiesta and also a bluefin witch is at the mo as far as i know only work for fords. a very good idear and yes you can clear all fault codes but i still have mine because once you have bought for £350 you are stuck with it.
unless you get your self another ford and send it off back to superchips for them to reprogram it and that will cost you £250 so it will work on your new ford.
once you install it into you car it stays with your car.
my mate had the same car but a differant colour we tryed to install it in to his car and it just would not have it.
also tryed a ford pooma and that dident like it too.

a waste of £350 if you ever sell your car

Yep, that's like my BSR one Dean. It 'marries' itself to the car on the first remap so I can't then remap someone elses car. You can understand why though. Otherwise there'd be people buying one unit then going off and remapping other peoples car with the same engines for their own profit.

I'd hardly say it's a waste of money. You buy it to improve the performance of that particular car. I think it's pretty good that you can change to another car's unit for £250. I don't know if BSR do that - question to ask them.

Maybe if a couple of hundred enquiries on the C/Signum come through it will get them thinking ??

I have Just made an enquiry to Superchips regarding the Bluefin about the possibility of a Vectra or Signum option, IF ENOUGH PEOPLE MAKE AN ENQUIRY THEY WILL NO DOUBT CONSIDER DOING SOMETHING, (maybe they want to help Ford owners catch Vauxhall's away from the Lights, he, he) Follow the link and fill in your cars details, it can't hurt.

I have sent them a message, as with the haynes manual, if enough people get in touch with them then they might do something about it....people power!!

Indeed. But it is all about making a hack for the ECU. Some won't support it at all. And rather expensive for something that a good tuning box does?
