    Angry Banks!!!!!

Every month, on the last day, my loan payments come out of my account.

I have to transfer the money between 2 accounts as this was not set up at the time of taking out the loan. Anyway, when i got up for work yesterday my wages were in and the account the direct debit comes out of was showing a minus of the payment amount. I immediately transferred the amount from my main account into said loan account and the total was back at 0.

Just checked the bank and the money has been put back in the account less a charge for 'unpaid items: RBS loan'

My guessing was that these things come off at the end of the business day, and me transferring the money in first thing that morning meant that there was enough funds in the account to pay off my loan for the month. The payment has been deducted from the loan total and all accounts show the payments going through

I did the same thing last month and everything was fine.........

Obviously i should speak to the bank but is this money mine or the banks??

I'd kick up a stink. Something similar happened to me a few months back. I grilled them for ten mins about the efficacy of this type of behaviour, it's basically it's an 'automated response' they can & should reimburse the charges straight away.

It's not the charge i'm worried about - it's the money being returned into the account.

i'll have a word with the bank later, they are open on Saturdays anyway

I had a direct debit taken out my account by aol twice by accident. I spoke to AOL and they said they would refund the money. My bank however said they would not be able to reverse the charge of £76 they applied the day after the transaction.
