Seriously?!! They were all very lucky for sure, and the co-pilot did an absolutely stunning job of landing it how he did. How nobody was badly injured, let alone killed, was miraculous.
I'm sure Alex only meant it as a bit of light humour - something we often do even when faced with adversity. If I'd been on that flight, and walked away unscathed, I'd personally also be having a chuckle at that picture.

As no one was hurt I think the joke's quite funny. Most jokes upset somebody, as they're normally about real life or stereotypes.
Don't take offence matey. I don't take offence to jokes about short fat blokes with big ears.
