Default Have I got Xenon Lights On My 07 Vectra Elite?

Can't make my mind up, if I shine the dipped lights onto my white garage door there is a blue halo around the image on the garage door, does this sound like xenon. I am given to understand that xenon bulbs can only be fitted to the dipped beam lights, not full beam.

    Any ideas?

    Gordon.

Have you got a height adjuster button on the right of your headlight switch?

If so, you've not got HID. Also another quick check is has your car got headlight washers? No washers = No HID.

the origional vxl parts but it aint easy either as the wiring aint there on

No, I haven't any of the above so that rules out Xenon then eh?, I wonder what the blue haze is around the light patten.

Having said all that, these are probably the best headlights I've had on any car that I can remember.

It seems that VX are giving us less and less on Elite models, I thought that buying an Elite would give me all the "Bells and Whistles".

I have to admit, I was also suprise that the Elite came with many optional upgrades.

The reason you have this blue tint is because you still have the "projector" style lights, but no actual HID bulbs in there.

Actually Craig, I've just checked and I do have a headlight hieght adjuster just below the panel light dimmer, so I guess that does rule out Xenon then?

Thanks for the info, still love the car though!.

Yeah, rules it out I'm afraid. What engine is in your Elite, I wonder whether this has something to do with it? I've got an 07 Vectra-C 1.9CDTi Elite which has the same lights as yours. My father in law has a 56 Signum V6 CDTi Elite which has the HIDs...

The Elites now have optional extras, which is a shame considering the cost of them.

If you go through the configurator on the Vauxhall website, you can spec up the car which allows you to add the options.

Currently, for the Signum Elite, the HIDs (or ALF) are £850, which is no suprise that not many 2nd hand cars have them fitted

Mine has a 2.2direct petrol engine, there are a few other things which I thought would come as "Standard", such as Traction Contol, seat belt warning, although Gsi seems to think that the latter could be activated by the dealer. My previous Vauxhalls Omega and Vectra B CDX's had these and more. My 2.5 CDX Omega even had an electric rear window blind and lights on the bottom of each door to shine on the ground, great in the dark.

But, as I said earlier, the car drives like a dream, the ride is solid, it feels like a real car.

As you say who would pay £850 to have Xenons fitted, not me for sure.

I would have thought traction contril would have been standard, but I belive they stopped putting it on the face lift?
