Default How fast should my 3.2 be?

    I have just changed from a 1.8 to a 3.2V6.

I must say Iam not that impressed?
Top end speed is fine but for 0-60 I expected faster.

Car is fitted with an induction kit, which I think makes the car a lot noisier? Could this affect performance.

    Any ideas?

Sounds like you should have bought a VXR

Are you running on LPG now?

iirc the 0-60 is somewhere around 7.5 seconds, not a whole lot quicker than a 1.9 CDTi, VXR is 6.1, or could it be that you thought you'd be in the 4 sec supercar league now

A 1.8 should do 60 in about 12 seconds, a 3.2 7.3 seconds. When you pull away at lights just look where the "opposition" is behind you. If no good try a porsche 911 or take your handbrake off! Either that or you've got another 1.8 in with a 3.2 badge!

The induction kit will not help as it pulls hot air into the engine from the engine bay,I used to have an induction kit on my old vec b 2.5, and that felt as though it boged down when you floored it.

The 0-60 time im sure is 6.9 secs , mine feels fine and i ve got an induction kit on mine which feels better than without and i love the noise from it . Make sure the induction kit is cleaned as it stops air getting into it...
If you ain t impressed coming from a 1.8 there must be something wrong with the car ...

I think you've simply been expecting more matey. Remember the power delivery will be completely different in a 3.2 V6 compared to a 4 pot 1.8.

Put the two cars side by side at a set of traffic lights and see the difference.

I wasnt impressed with the standard 2.8T VXR either... (cost vs. performance)

The 3.2 Petrol is a very good engine... but I would always choose the 1.9 CDTI over it, and then tune it up. You then have the performance at 'cheap as chips' running costs.

If you want 'hang on ' performance out of the Vectra.... the only car thats impressed me is the remapped VXR 300.... it'll take me a while to get bored of this performance.... it really is good.... pulls like a train !!

I have to agree with Spoons

I was not impressed with the VXR standard either , probably expecting too much , remapped was a different story, but like anything, when you get used with it it doesn`t feel as quick again !
