    Question Spare wheel ?

Finally fitting my 17's tomorrow , just wondering about the spare now though. Will the space saver still be ok or one of my old 16's ? My new tyres are 215x45x17 if that helps

If it's a hatch/saloon, keep a 16 as your spare if you want to as it will fit. You can always sell the remaining three as spares for other people too.

Just as Duncan has said, I fitted a set of 17" SRI wheels & used one of the old 16" ones as my spare.

It's only the Signum & estate that has to keep the space saver

Well that's interesting as I have a 215/55/R16 on a 6.5J fitted in the spare wheel well of my 2007 facelift SRi estate and my dad also has one (I gave him) in his 2005 prefacelift LX 1.8 estate. Yes the floor is not flat, actually stands proud at the sides about 13mm but in my case I have a Cannon boot liner and so the slight raise is not noticeable.

Prefer the full size spare to the space saver anyday, and yes I have driven 30 odd miles on the spacesaver, ugh!

Also 215/45/17's are the wrong size really, if only by a little. 215/50/17 or 225.45/17 are the prefered size
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
