    Default True or false...

For any of you that travel on the M25....... BEWARE......
As from 15th Feb 2008 the speed cameras between junctions 10 (Wisley/A3) and 15 (Heathrow) WILL be active. At present they are set intermittently to
activate with any vehicle travelling over 93 MPH. As from the 15th they
will be permanently set to activate at 80 MPH.
I am reliably informed that everyone travelling over this speed WILL get a
ticket. This will no doubt rake the Government `loads of cash`. DON'T GET
    CAUGHT.

I need to know as i drive on that section quite frequently

To be fair, the limit is 70. Now no-one drives at that speed, me included, but you can't really have a go at them seeing as they've set it at 80...

If they were really after money they'd set it AT 70....

    Just my thoughts...

i'm worried about getting caught at the speed that they are currently set to activate, let alone in february when it'll drop to 80.

i thought the cameras were only activated when temporary speed reductions were in place

When I recently travelled between those junctions on the M25 my Snooper detector kept going off . Now I know why.

TBH I always keep dead on the speed limit (or lower depending on traffic of course) on these sections of the M25 and also the sections of the M42 that have a similar traffic management system. I've been sworn at by a few white van drivers on the M25 but I refuse to risk getting a ticket ... it just isn't worth it IMHO ... if you are driving over the speed limit and they decide to switch on the cameras you wouldn't have a leg to stand on ... speeding is an absolute offence after all.

I also personally believe the traffic management system is really good on the M42 as people change lanes less and do less stupid things making the traffic run more smoothly.

I agree Dave, if you know there are speed cameras and there is a max speed set on the signs then you'd have to be crazy to go any faster. Those ones on the M42 are active, seen one go off the other day on the opposite direction. I'm going up and down here every day at the min and it does seem to work well.

Even when the rolling speed limits are inactive I won't exceed 70 through those stretches (or anywhere else on the UK Motorway network honest m'lud)
