Default K&N Panel Air Filter, any good?

Im looking to buy a K&N filter for my veccy 1.9 CDTi as I was told it improves air flow which results in increased power?! Any1 know where i can get them cheaper than £46 and do they really work?

I think Caterman got a Courtney performance filter the other week for around £20.
Not sure if they are much use though. Some say just change your standard filter regulaly and its just as good....

If you want a quick fix for more power, put V Power in

I always put diesel V Power in mine however the wife suggested as we were at Sainsburys at the weekend to put their stuff in. BIG mistake. Its absolutly crap! The car has lost its edge and definatly noticeable when you put your foot down. My car really does respond well to V Power. Also I've done a lot of miles the last few days and MPG is down, which I'm suprised about but it does appear the cheap stuff doesnt give the miles like V Power does. So although V Power is dearer, its gives more miles so breaks even for me. And the car responds so much better.

Anyway, filled back up with a tank of V Power tonight - so all sorted again

This will help finding your nearest Shell garage - not sure if it tells you if its got V power diesel. What I did a year or so ago was to email Shell asking what garages sell what fuel and they will send you a spreadsheet of which garage sells what.
