I lowered my SRI with Eibach Springs and it does make a difference yes.

I would recommend that you get the wheels re-aligned as well. They were out when they checked mine afterwards.

... and yes you should get some sports dampers as well, cos that makes another big difference.

    Good luck

Why does everybody think that the dampers are called shock absorbers?

Interesting. I don't know what I'm talking about but I would guess that dampers are there to control the movement of the body on the springs, otherwise your ride quality would be seriously compromised. Dampers are there to absorb the shock of encountering bumps and rough services....and are therefore shock absorbers. Springs are undamped without dampers.

I can see what you're getting at, but this (seemingly well informed) article states that a damper is the technical term for a 'shock absorber': -
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shock_absorber

    Sidenote:
The whole suspension unit i.e. spring, damper etc. is called the "MacPherson Strut" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacPherson_strut

Eh the springs are springs and the shockers are the dampers if you go to any motor factor or garage and ask for new shock absorbers you will not get springs as springs are not shock absorbers mate

    Anyway....

Yes, I changed my springs for the Eibach set, and to be completely honest, couldn't tell much difference. I don't really drive that hard, so maybe others who throw the car around a bit more would notice a bigger difference.

Yes - get the alignment checked afterwards, it's only an extra -15mm but that's 50% lower than the SRi springs, and your tyres WILL wear unevenly.
