Go to www.powerbulbs.co.uk and order a set of Philips X-Treme bulbs. They're excellent - won the Auto Express bulb test recently.

    Halfords are overpriced rubbish.

Halfords "Brighter" bulbs are on BOGOF at the mo, but you'll need it as they only last about 5 mins

I made the mistake of putting them in my last car (Civic Type-R) and they only lasted about a month - they were replaced twice - before I went back and got a refund..

Oh please don't, they should be branded ultra blinding bulbs, perhaps I should get my inspection lamp out and blind the crap out of oncoming dazzlers, this ain't directed at you btw, just an observation.

Are you talking about Halford's or the Oscram/Philips bulbs, VV?

The Philips ones are much better built, so won't dazzle.

Any of them, they all blind ppl ime, I can't see the need for them either, if you can't see in a street lamp lit road you shouldn't be driving, and for other roads they fit main beam to counter the lackof light.

Wierd, I had the Philips X-Treme things in my previous Astra, and they gave a much better focus than the factory fit Salvinias and the Halfords +50% jobs.

    Better focus = less dazzle.

Though I'm just using standard Philips Premiums in this Astra - the auto lights mean they're on pretty much constantly, and the +80's burn out too quick.
