    not the ECU no, but they do run the risk of damage to the high pressure fuel pump, injectors......

    not very common but they do fail...and it's expensive when they do...

    it's personal choice.. the caterman is a great cheap box and does just what it says on the tin...a remap is best...

    Depends which way you look at it

    Cheap = Expensive.... sometimes

    A single bolt for example... in the wrong hands can be very very expensive

    Call 01295 768 880

    .... never went into limp mode once in 45,000 miles

    Handled the Nurburgring and flat out down the Autobahn.... 130+MPH for hours at a time (well minutes at least )

    Cool

    I had a high quality tuning box on my car for 9 months with not a single problem for 20k miles until it stalled in traffic one time last week. It didn't go into limp mode, just "cut-out".
    I don't know why, but when I took my car to Vx about the engine cut-out, they had to rewrite the ECU map with the latest version. Car runs perfect again now, it's very strange.
    Perhaps boxes are worse than remaps for your engine, plenty of problems with both on this site, that's for sure.
    Best to steer clear of both remaps and boxes imo, if you need your car to be as reliable as possible (and definitely if your warranty has run out!).

    Oh, fight, fight!

    They're probably very similar in terms of the power/torque delivery. The BSR has the main difference, and advantage IMO, in that with the mapping unit you get with it you can both remap yourself, saving a trip to 888, and also revert to standard all by yourself - handy for when the car goes in for service/work etc.
