This sounds like a moisture thing,Basically the pads stick to the disc,on driving of a slight scraping sound can be heard. This disappears as the pads and discs warm and free up.Have a look at your discs, have you got lets say black tide marks running down the discs? My old discs looked like they were cracking! lol especially the rears, not to worry though as these marks are caused by the pads resting or 'sticking' to the disc,....Changed my discs, and fitted green stuff pads,'problem'(not that it really is one but is annoying)solved

if they are worn down to the cast backing plate, you'll probably start destroying your discs any mile now...

You will need a 'windback tool' for the rear brakes ( avaliable cheaply from ebay) and a 7mm allen key bit.... a E20 and E18 torx soket to undo the caliper mount bracket ( very tight)..a rachet to fit it, a large screwdriver, some copper grease a torx bit to fit the retaining screw for the disc and a hammer to persuade the old disc off..some sandpaper to clean the hub flange up ( very important) and some degreaseant to remove the preserving grease from the new discs..Have a look at the 'how-2's section for the brake pad change thread and it will give you more of an idea..

sounds like the pads may be binding...as above, follow the how-2's and strip the brakes. clean the padrest surfaces with a wire brush to remove any crug and reassemble the pads with a ligh smear of copper grease on the usrfaces where the pads touch the caliper or padrest

Dave - if you don't have a windback tool, a pair of long nose pliers will do the job, just be prepared to have to put some effort into it and watch you don't slip!!

    Cheers,
