    Default Tyre Pressure monitoring system

Following on from the threads on retrofitting the bluetooth phone kit:-

Has anybody got or ever seen a Vec C / Signum with the bluetooth tyre pressure monitoring system fitted? Option has long been deleted from the UK Cars but is still in manuals for the facelifts.

The underbody wiring and the pressure sensors are obviously going to be missing but I'm wondering what else would stop you retro fitting it (other than cost which is probably a killer).

There are two systems mate. One for tyre pressure and one for sudden or very quick deflation. The second one just uses the same systems as TC I think.

yes I've seen Opels with the TPMS fitted, but that doesn't say much...

Both systems are integrated in the TPMS: the first works with sensors in the valves and I suppose it is radio controlled and not bluetooth; the second is as Rushy wrote.

and you'll need the TPMS control unit (which I've seen already on eBay) and some tech2 sessions to make it work and connected to your CID - as a factory option it is only 200 euro; retrofitting will be a lot more.

Having had a quick look at the TIS it doesn't actually look dificult to fit.

Two wires to each sensor receiver (4 receivers in total) and then connect to the LSCAN on the REC it appears. Then a bit of tech2?

Wiring doesn't look two difficult to retro fit if the LSCAN to TPMS controller is there. Couldn't find a different wiring harness for it on EPC which is a good sign (then again this is a Vec C so it never going to be simple).

    Anybody actually got this fitted?

i think the connector in the cubby on the right of the boot is for one receiver, another receiver goes under the bonnet. sure duncan looked at this and the price for modules plus valves was over £400. i kow leedsvectra bought some of the valves, dunno about modules or how far he got though.

My tyre fitter loves them. Weather its BMW, Renault or vx the valves corrode and fail, gives him loads of work.

A quick look at TIS and your right connector in the cubby in the boot is for the main control unit.

Downside is there are four sensor receivers plus the four sensor values have to be fitted under the car / in wheels.

A quick look at google indicates that it may be possible to get the sensors from GM in the USA at least as system is more common on USA cars.

(At £400 might get one of the aftermarket kits for a lot less than that). Will atleast get dealer to price bits up.

Not looking good for this upgrade. Unless its hidden somewhere, it doesn't appear the 07 Signum/Vec has got the CAN bus connector on the wiring harness for the tpms.

There should be a 12pin connector to the tpms somewhere in the rear right boot cubby hole or under the boot panelling somewhere. (but haven't been able to find it )

Has anybody found this connector while doing other mods or know where it would be taped up? Location may be slightly different on the Signum.

Providing the CANBUS connector is there, a quick inspection under the car indicates that any missing wiring shouldn't be too difficult to fit.

Found this on ebay, Looks quite good.. Is there any make thats better than the rest in TPMS? I wouldnt mind having TPMS myself, wouldn't like to ruin any of the 19" tyres due to low tyre pressures, 35 series tyres are not the best tyres to notice a loss of pressure in by eye alone...
