Hey all
I am planning to do as much of the vecs maintenance as possible, mostly servicing, and work that is suitable for DIY.
What tools should i start getting my hands on?

torx sockets and insert bits, caliper windback tool...should see you started..
halfords have a offer on a tool case full of all the tools you need and more its 99 pound but it good quality and they will last i even think they guarenteed for life!!
AJust about anything is possible for a DIYer, eventually, and some cash to extend your tool and equipemnt range.
There are plenty of books around about choosing and using tools, which could be a good start.
I guess you're meaning the 120 piece kit? I notice they've gone up in price. It wasn't that long ago I got the 150 piece kit for the £99 price when it was on offer. I noticed the 150 piece kit has gone up from £150 to £180!
The 120 piece is still a good one to go for, especially when it's on offer. It's good stuff and as you say all comes with a lifetime guarantee.
Some tools won't work out very cost effective if they are specific tools (eg brake rewind tool) - how many times are you going to use it?? It is easily possible to do the brakes without one, sometimes you have to improvise a solution.
Reasonable quality tools with be a very good investment, as they will radically reduce your costs of maintaining your vehicle. IMO Steer clear of very cheap tools (or be prepared to break them - regularly), and the most expensive may not be necessary for home use.
