..........no longer are we talking about going down to one car, its happening. Both the wife's Citroen C2 and my Veccy are up for sale to finance the purchase of the new beast. The problem is, we don't seem to like the same things. We're agreed on VX (naturally) and because of my job thinking of something with a bit of get up and go and plenty of room. So long as it has a cdti then I don't mind, but what the cdti comes in is still up for discussion.

Liking the thought of a Veccy SRi or Astra estate SRi but herself seems to like the Zafira and while it seems to be really practical (can't believe I'm saying its practical and that I like it at the age of 29!) it just doesn't do much for me.

She sat in four cars today (veccy estate, astra estate, signum and zafira) and preferred the Zaffy and the Astra to the others. Its a shame cos I love the veccy and had my heart set on a cdti sri (still might fiond ways to get my own way though)

Anyone have either an astra estate or a zaffy (either with a cdti) got any thoughts on them?

Also noticed a increasing numbers of folk going the 2.2 Direct option. How economical is it and how does it compare to the cdti?

    Anyone

I had a Zafira Club CDTi while my SRi was in at Vauxhall for two weeks, I haven't had such fun driving for ages.

Ditch the stigma, they are really fun, good cars.

Get a 2.2 direct 05 on and you won't be sorry, unless of course you are concerned about having to do 40mpg plus.
