    Default Yippee Cheap Insurance again

Just had my renewal notice through. £227.77

Wow its getting cheaper year by year. Its fully comp with my wife on it too and bonus protected with legal cover and only £175 excess for damage to car and £100 excess through fire or theft.

It was £250 last year and about £275 the year before.

Good old Hastings have come up trumps again.

Just for my own personal amusement I've just been and got a quote from Hastings.

    My history is:

Held a full license since 1992, no convictions, one non-fault claim in the last thre years, car is on drive, alarm and immobiliser, civil servant, married, 42 years old, live in rural area. Car is Edition100.

Quote came back with 325Quid with protected no-claims and 200Quid excess

    Must try harder.

    Regards

    Nidge

I was insured with Hastings, they were ok until i needed to make a claim, they told me i could only have me car repaired by one of there own approved repairers, i live in Durham and they wanted the car to go to cumbria to appleby brothers, they also had repairers in Newcastle but because of my postcode it had to go to cumbria. When i phoned Appleby bros they told me they were booked for 6-7 weeks. i got back in touch with hastings and after lots of hassle and argueing i managed to get them to allow me to get it repaired at my local dealer. Changed insurers when renewal came in.
