818 miles in 19 3/4 hours!

Well I left home at 0015 this morning, got to J27 M1 and it was shut! Cut down to J26 and had to contend with 3 sets of temporary lights!

Stopped off at Tesco Thurrock for some lovely 99 Octanes-couldn't get back on M25! Bit of ducking round Thurrock and finally got on M25-Bridge shut=diverted through the Tunnel. Was the first in the queue to get on the ferry because the Chunnel was shut for maintenance work! They started loading the ferry and even though I was #1 they pulled the other row on 1st!!

Made it to Belgium for a nicotine resupply. Then another 2 hours to Brussels but we were early so stopped for an hours siesta. Just nodded off and a blodoy cockeral was roaming around the services and started **** a doodle doing outside the car door!

What are cockerals doing roaming around services???!!!!

Got to the Drs in northern Brussels and the Dr was 25 mins late! He then gave my wife the injection she needed and was in and out in 5mins!

Decided then that I was going to try and make the earlier ferry back so waited for my Belgian radar breaker to come screaming by, which wasn't long so upto 4000rpm all the way through Belgium! Made up so much time even had time to nip in the off licence as well!!

Left Dover and never stopped all the way back and got home at 1945! Now sitting with a very large whisky!

818 miles 19 3/4 hours. Will never use the ferry again if poss-always use the train before. Waiting for and using the ferry cost an extra 2 1/2 hours compared to the train!!

Think I might sleep tonight!!
