    Default VXR Question

Just curious, I remember reading on this forum about a diesel version of the Zafira VXR was supposedly coming out this year, and subsequently a diesel Vectra VXR, which was to be powered by a 1.9CDTI, bi-turbo which supoosedly produced 200PS, is this true?

Also another VXR question, I have been browsing the Network Q used car site and found this, along with others like it:

    Vauxhall NEW VECTRA 2.8i V6 24v (255ps) 2007MY VXR

If you notice at the top it says 255PS, I thought the VXR produced 280PS (276BHP)? Are there two versions of this engine available in the VXR?

I'm aware there is a 2.8T (250PS) auto, only available on the Elite.

Between late 2005 and late 2006 (some 56 plates) the power was 255PS. So therefore some 56 pates and onwards are 280PS.

    To answer your questions...

    No derv VXR.

The VXR was initally 255PS during it's introduction MY2006 this can be identified by reading the colour plate on the inside of the drivers door on the B pillar near the door striker. look for either 186Kw or 206Kw (i.e. 255ps or 280ps).
Basically the cars are the same except some minor engine internals (cam gears), which brought the engine in line with the saab units. The suspension was also revised with long bushes in the dampers and some updated software for the IDS+2/ESP.

If it is a MY2007 then it should be a 280ps model. However it could also be a late registered car hence the 2007 tag. MY2007 Vectra's production began in August 2006 as far as I know.

BTW that's some crap photoshopping in the advert!

    Hope that helps.

Cheers, the top speed of the Vectra VXR is 161mph, is that for the 255ps pr 280ps?

BTW regarding the photograph, I know that's why you should go and see a car!!!!
